SAQA Ohio member, Susan Shie will be holding a solo exhibition in Orrville, Ohio this month. The event features Susan's drawings of her Orrville childhood as well as paintings and drawings of her granddaughter, Eva Miller. She will also exhibit some of her art quilts including her most recent work from the Kitchen Tarot series entitled, Royal Wedding: King of the Potholders.
The opening reception will be held on July 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at the Heartland Community Center located at 200 N. Main St. in Orrville, Ohio. The building sits on the corner of Main and Water Streets. Light snacks and beverages will be served and the house cafe will be open for meal purchases.

Thank you, Sue, for posting this. This show will be up through Sept 3, and Eva and I collaborated on six of the new pieces, when she was here this Summer. The center is closed on weekends, only open til 6 PM most days, but til 8 on Thursdays. If you're on Facebook, you can see many of the new works in the photo albums on my Susan Shie page.
